Unlimited Mobile Broadband Plans

Compare mobile broadband plans using the chart below. You'll discover that very few providers actually offer a truly unlimited plan, even though many have advertised such plans as "unlimited". When mobile internet was limited to cell phones, it was essentially unlimited since the phone was limited in capabilities. With today's more demanding devices, most providers have imposed usage caps while they work to install faster 4G networks.

To experience the freedom of go-anywhere wireless internet, take advantage of mobile broadband by choosing a plan that works best for you. Consider a mobile hotspot to make the experience even better. These small wireless routers work with any wifi-enabled device and can connect multiple devices to your mobile broadband connection at the same time.

Still not satisfied with the plans available? Don't worry, providers are working fast to upgrade their networks to next-generation technologies like Wimax, LTE, and HSDPA. The good news is that these technologies will not only bring much faster speeds, they'll also eliminate many of the data usage caps we see today. Clear is the first company to launch 4G (Wimax) network on a large scale. Sprint has partnered with Clear to provide 4G service with Sprint broadband plans.

UPDATE 11/17/2011 - Sprint has discontinued their unlimited 4G plan (Wimax through Clear) and replaced it with monthly allowances (up to 12 GB). Clear is the only remaining truly unlimited 4G provider. Coincidentally, Clear has removed their 4G/3G plan that used the Spring network for 3G. Clear now only offers 4G only plans.

UPDATE 3/30/2011 -Verizon has released a new 4G/3G Mobile Hotspot to take advantage of their new LTE network popping up in 2011. Their 4G LTE Plans are not unlimited at this time.
